Meet Our Team

Scott Unger and Family

Originally from Kingwood, Texas, Scott Unger planted his roots in Abilene in the spring of 1997. As a class of 1998 graduate from Wylie High School, he then went on to earn a degree in Business Management from Abilene Christian University in 2003.

Scott’s career began selling insurance; however, a series of fortunate circumstances led to Scott painting his first house in early 2008. Scott rebranded the company to Diamondback Painting in 2015 and dedicated himself to training the best team of painters, capable of tackling any size job.

Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending the majority of his time with his wife, Melanie, their two lovely children, Lincoln and Lexi, and Golden Retriever, Reggie.

Brandon Hansen and Family

Brandon joined the Abilene community in the summer of 2015 as a breath of fresh air to the local Sherwin-Williams paint store on Industrial Blvd. In tow with him, he brought his young family; his wife Katie and their four children, twins Cash Wyatt and Kenzie Gray (3 years old), Henry Todd (2 years old) and Maizie Jane (3 months old).

Brandon began his interest in home improvement working summers with his father’s business, Conrad Hansen Painting & Decorating, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, while pursuing a degree in Real Estate Finance at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Upon graduation, Brandon began his own painting company in San Antonio, but it did not last long before he was recruited into the management training program at Sherwin-Williams. After five years with the company, he has returned to his entrepreneurial roots and joined forces with Scott Unger’s Diamondback Painting venture.
